KWG On The Move

KWG has moved

Karen Woodbury Gallery is pleased to announce some exciting changes designed to keep the gallery at the forefront of contemporary art. After seven years located in Richmond and hosting an exhibition program that featured over 70 solo and group exhibitions, it is time to regenerate and reinvent.

The gallery has now closed its Richmond venue and our office has relocated to the artistic hub of Flinders Lane in Melbourne’s CBD. Whilst we organise and plan for the future renovation of the new space, and exciting re-launch in 2013, the gallery will operate on a ‘by appointment’ basis only.

We will continue to be available to assist with all our clients’ needs in sourcing works of art, collection development advice and updates on new art works arriving in the stockroom, direct from the studios of our artists.

The new look website will be launched soon to keep you regularly informed of gallery developments. We encourage you to stay in contact by joining our Facebook page, subscribing to our blog, via email or the good old fashioned telephone.

Several off site projects of note this year, include: our recent participation in the 4th India Art Fair, Delhi (January 2012); Lara Merrett’s solo exhibition of new paintings to be held at Block Projects in Richmond 4-28 April; and our participation at the Melbourne Art Fair 1-5 August, with a joint exhibition by gallery artists, Fiona Lowry and Kate Rohde.

"managed to encompass the complete evolution of Spremberg's body of work."

NGV appoints new director

Congratulations to Tony Ellwood who has this week been appointed the new Director of the National Gallery of Victoria. Tony left the position of Deputy Director of the gallery five years ago to take the helm of the Queensland Art Gallery, which had undergone an impressive extension under his predecessor Doug Hall. The Victorian contemporary art community are certainly excited at the prospect of having a director who is interested to promote art from the 20th and 21st Centuries
