New Gallery Artists

We are pleased to welcome artists Fiona Lowry and  Heather B Swann to Karen Woodbury Gallery.

Fiona and Heather (along with Rhys Lee) will be exhibiting together in a group exhibition at Karen Woodbury Gallery, opening on 17 November.

John Pule survey exhibition - Wellington City Gallery

John Pule is holding an important survey exhibition 'Hauaga (Arrivals)' at the Wellington City Gallery which runs from 29 May - 12 September.

Dark Dreams + Fluorescent Flesh @ 24HRArt

Jane Burton and Monika Tichacek are currently exhibiting in a group exhibition Dark Dreams + Fluorescent Flesh at 24HrArt in Darwin, until 12 June 2010.

City of Hobart Art Prize

Congratulations to Michael Doolan who has been selected as a finalist for the City of Hobart Art Prize at the Tasmanian Museum and Gallery for his two works  Monuments of Times Past, ceramic and nylon. 

This exhibition opens on 23 July, 2010.

Fender Katsalidis Commission - Heather B Swann

Heather B Swann has recently completed a large sculpture commission for the foyer of the
New Acton South apartment building in  Canberra designed by Melbourne architects Fender Katsalidis.

Jane Burton - Gold Goast City Gallery acquisition

Congratulations to Jane Burton for the acquisition of her work Ivy#1 by the Gold Coast City Art Gallery  
through the Josephine Ulrick Win Schubert Photography Award. Jane was a finalist in the 2010 Award exhibition that closed on 23 May 2010.

Del Kathryn Barton: InStyle Magazine Women of Style winner!

Congratulations to Del Kathryn Barton who has been awarded the InStyle Magazine Women of style winner for the Arts and Culture category.

Del Kathryn Barton will be holding a works on paper exhibition in mid November 2010 in the gallery (upstairs), in addition to having works available for our Melbourne Art Fair stand in early August.

Romance Was Born Australian Fashion Week 2010

Kate Rohde has recently been collaborating with the Australian Fashion label Romance was Born for Australian Fashion week in Sydney. Inspiration was drawn from her imagery on fabrics and resin pieces, specifically inspired around recent works that depict dinosaurs.

Salon des Refuses 2010

Congratulations to Lara Merrett for her selection in the

Salon des Refuses: The Alternative Archibald & Wynne Prize Selection exhibition. 

Lara will be holding a solo exhibition at Karen Woodbury Gallery, 2 - 26 June 2010.

Lisa Roet ABC TV Artscape documentary

Lisa Roet has recently featured in an ABC TV Artscape documentary that traces the commission process of a large scale bronze chimpanzee bust while also

documenting her recent travels to Borneo offering an insight into Lisa's prolific practice.
